We are the students of class 4 in the elementary school. We live near the river Magra, who was born between MonteBorgognone (Tuscany) and the Table Mountain and then flows in Liguria, pouring if the Ligurian Sea. It is 70 km longand he has many tributaries. Its waters are rich in fish and the shores are inhabited by small mammals and birds. It is shallow and not very navigable, and the boats are almost at the bottom of the pot. We enjoyed to build some.
Boats in Latvia
Our students have done a great work exploring boat building traditions in Latvia. They have made a presentation and have tried to do some boats themselves.
Our boys were trying to make some boats from wood. There are some photos of this process.
However, there was a problem with equipment which unexpectably broke down. So the boats are not finished yet, but they do hope to solve the problem soon.
Our girls wanted to make a gingerbread boat. So you can see some photos from this activity:

Students in Zakumuiza make their own water filters
In December students from Zakumuiza Elementary School in Latvia were working on building their own creative water treatment systems. Some filters were quite interesting. Students also had to create some PP presentations about water cleaning problem in their living area and solutions.
